Gentle chiropractic in San Antonio

Gentle spine care, with someone beside you

A small clinic for older adults and the sons and daughters who book for them. We explain each step before we start, use low-force methods and welcome a family member in the room.

Booking for a parent

Booking for your mom or dad

Four steps, and your parent stays in charge of every decision. The families page lists what to bring and who can sign what.

  1. 01

    Call or write

Give us your parent's name and the time of day that suits them. They agree to the visit, and you can be on the phone together.

  2. 02

Tell us how they get here

Let us know about a cane, a walker, a ride or stairs, so we can plan the room and the time.

  3. 03

    Come along

You are welcome in the room. Your parent chooses who hears about their care, and we note it in their file.

  4. 04

We explain to both of you

The doctor says what was found and what comes next, in plain words, with time for your questions.

Medicare, in plain words

Medicare covers manual spinal manipulation only

Exams, x-rays and other services are not covered. After your Part B deductible you pay 20%, or your supplemental plan does. For care Medicare does not cover, we tell you the cost and give you a notice to sign before it starts.

Care

Care at a pace that suits you

Three kinds of care. Your doctor sets the pace with you after the exam.

  • Gentle adjustments

Light, slow pressure, seated or on a table that lowers to chair height.

    About adjustments
  • Soft tissue work

Hands-on work on the muscles around the spine, hips and shoulders, with your clothes on.

Questions

A few quick answers

What happens at the first visit?

You talk with the doctor about your health and your goals, the doctor does an exam, and then explains what was found before any care starts. The first visit takes longer than later ones, so plan extra time.

Can my son or daughter come with me?

Yes. Family members are welcome in the room, and the doctor asks you first whether you want them there.

Do you take Medicare?

We bill Medicare for manual spinal manipulation. Medicare does not cover exams, x-rays or other services. The Medicare page explains what you pay.

Will it hurt?

Low-force methods use light pressure. Tell the doctor right away if anything is uncomfortable, and the method changes. Some people feel sore afterward; ask about it at your next visit.
